Funding Priorities - January 2007
For the January round we were specifically looking to fund:
Applications from Northern Ireland, Wales and rural areas of Scotland,
Applications that provide a filmmaking opportunity for beneficiaries aged 12 and under and
Applications that include the following as a significant element of the project; script development sessions, editing sessions, screenings as part of a wider film festival or event.

The next funding dealine is Tuesday 24 April. Application forms and guidelines for the next deadline will be available from 16 February online or by post.

Pilot Award
For one film of up to 5 mins long
Maximum grant £4,000
Match funding of 20% required
Ideal for first time filmmakers

Studio Award
For 2 to 4 films of up to 10 mins long
Maximum grant £20,000
Match funding of 40% required
Track record of filmmaking with young people necessary

Amount of Funding Available

First Light allocates £700,000 of Lottery funding per year to its funding schemes.

For the January 2007 round of funding, First Light is able to spend approximately £160,000.

To date we have received 1058 applications, of which 373 (35%) have been funded.
