Scheduling

Make the best use of your resources and get organised. A schedule is a written plan of what will take place at each stage of your production - from casting and rehearsals, a shooting schedule, to post production and delivering your film. edit 301
It is not necessary to shoot in the same order as the script. This will be sorted out when you edit. Beware the unpredictable! When scheduling always be aware that things might not go according to plan, so build extra time into your shooting plans to compensate for this. You could have bad weather, poor available light, people could turn up late.

Before every day of the shoot, create a call sheet – this tells the cast and crew exactly what is going to be shot the next day, and what they will need, and give it to everyone. It should also have everyone's contact details on, and a designated production mobile number. This is for people to contact a runner on location for any problems or questions they have (for example, if they are ill, can't find the location, an actor is missing etc). You can find an example of a call sheet here, though a simpler version may work equally as well for you. edit 178
