Make Friends and Influence People
First Light Movies is on the road! We have put together a networking programme of day long events aimed at sharing knowledge and best practice, as well as fostering relationships and developing partnership working between organisations engaged with young people and film. The days have been structured to be informative, enjoyable and fun!
Sessions will include speakers discussing traditional and new forms of film exhibition and distribution, signposting training/career/education opportunities for young filmmakers and resources for cine-literacy.
Skillset, as the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries, will be on hand to provide individuals information and careers advice surgeries about maintaining and advancing professional skills. First Light will also be offering 1-to-1 funding surgeries for any queries about our lottery funding programmes.
The first two events are being held as part of the London Children’s Film Festival:
Monday 20 November - The Tricycle Theatre, Kilburn
Monday 4 December - exposures the UK Student Film Festival at Urbis, Manchester
The following event will take place as part of the Animex International Festival of Animation in Middlebrough on 6 February 2007.
The cost to attend is £10 (payable in advance) which will include lunch. Travel bursaries of £30 will also be available.
