Exhibition Ideas
Be imaginative when you exhibit your film. Organising a premiere event is a great way to celebrate the achievements of all involved, and to generate some publicity around any other screenings you have planned. As well as approaching festivals (click here for a list) try local cinemas and other local venues (community centres, schools etc).
First Light funded projects have exhibited at the following:
Writing On The Wall, a group from Liverpool, premiered their films at the Plaza Cinema in Crosby. They attracted a great deal of local press attention and attendees of the event included Jimmy McGovern, Frank Cotrell Boyce and Liverpool footballer Jamie Carragher.
What Are We Like? a slate of productions made by Slough Borough Council premiered their films at their local UGC cinema, which was covered by the local press. They also made their films available through Slough's libraries for the public to rent.
SAMPAD premiered their Bollywood themed short Obsession on the 1st July at the UGC Cinema in Broad Street, Birmingham. The event was a glamorous occassion which attracted press coverage. They also held a short fun awards ceremony as part of the premiere to reward the young people involved.
